Positions in this family include those responsible for functions in areas such as health services, clinical services and delivery of clinical care

Positions in this function will guide, support, and oversee clinical quality at onsite locations, foster clinical relationships, enhance engagement, and support partnerships between business operations, training staff, and medical directors. The objective will be to enhance the delivery of safe patient care through excellent clinical program consultants, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This position may support operations that span various aspects of the Medical & Clinical Operations job family without being limited to a single function.

The clinical program consultant will be responsible for driving excellence in clinical quality and patient safety. This involves application of extensive knowledge of clinical screenings/testing, vaccine administration operations, and various clinical exams. The clinical program consultant will use their clinical experience and expertise to accurately evaluate sites with particular focus on infection prevention/control, specimen collection and vaccine administration, along with their expert consultation, and effective problem assessment and problem-solving skills. This position provides expert clinical guidance, and real-time guidance to the site team lead and team members as needed. The clinical program consultant will identify and mitigate risks impacting operational efficiency and/or patient/staff safety. They will identify deficiencies related to quality of examination documentation, specimen collection and vaccine/medication administration processes, and other surveillance and monitoring. Provide correction and guidance through the development of collaborative, trusting relationships with site team leaders; enhancing their confidence through support for development of their leadership and management skills. The clinical program consultant recognizes situations that may negatively impact operational efficiency or safety and acts appropriately to resolve the situation on site if possible while also escalating situations to the appropriate responsible office/individual in a timely manner. The clinical program consultant effectively communicates and collaborates with cross functional organizational team members that support onsite delivery of care and provides constructive information to improve program operations.

The clinical program consultant conducts surveillance of clinical quality and patient safety and submits accurate, complete survey forms in designated repository for data collection and analysis. This position also conducts clinical audits to review for accuracy and completeness of healthcare and service delivery documentation and makes suggestions for improvement in performance. The clinical program consultant applies surveillance and audit experience to development and revision of surveillance and audit instruments and clinical processes. The clinical program consultant is familiar with, understands and enforces legal/regulatory requirements such as HIPAA, OSHA, ADA, CLIA and related policies and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the development of processes for a function that spans a business unit or multiple sites

  • Provides explanations and information to others for surveillance, audit or clinical process issues
  • Enforce professional scope of practice requirements at operational sites
  • Provides input for development of clinical policy and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Cultivates and implements solutions that adhere to regulatory requirements, professional and clinical standards of care, evidence-based clinical practice and drive strategic business growth
  • Collaborate with Potential Quality Incident (PQI) investigators, OSHA/ADA auditors, Onsite Medical Assistants, Medical Assistant Training team, and Care delivery team
  • Participate in Clinical Document Oversight Team document reviews
  • Conducting vaccine inventory utilization management reviews
  • Conducting start of day/end of day worksheet reviews
  • Conducting proactive risk assessments
  • Conducting medical record/exam reviews
  • Conducting documentation reviews
  • Assisting in OSHA/ADA surveys as needed
  • Responsible for oversight and management of facility monthly, annual checklists as well as temperature logs
  • All other duties as assigned

Functional Competencies

  • Review and Implement Medical and Clinical Protocols for Staff Oversight and Development
    • Incorporate appropriate resources (regulatory, scope of practice, accreditation, clinical) to provide recommendations for clinical processes and review and inform development of clinical policies and procedures
    • Provide site staff and appropriate operational leaders w/ clinical/safety guidance and provide clinically related information to address issues/problems and requests for information (e.g., policy/procedure, locate relevant resources, answers questions)
    • Maintain and use knowledge of regulatory, scope of practice, and evidence-based and best practice for clinical care delivery
    • Help deliver operational or technical training as needed/requested
  • Plan/Implement/Manage Medical and Clinical Ops Programs
    • Developing policies, procedures, and guidelines for medical and clinical operations programs
    • Reviewing policies/Standard Operating Procedures for approval/change management
    • Assist with evaluating regulatory requirement changes and determining steps needed to implement in programs
    • Identifying and implementing business development opportunities to support growth of medical and clinical operations programs
    • Monitoring/navigating technology and software applications used in the delivery of medical and clinical operations programs
    • Evaluating/monitoring /service delivery systems used for site care/services delivery
    • Supporting resolution of member or employee complaints or issues as necessary
  • Ensure Compliance of Medical and Clinical Ops Programs and Services
    • Providing input for content to support compliance/clinical/medical reports
    • Enforcing scope of practice at event sites
    • Enforcing site clinical operations against contractual requirements
    • Monitoring and internal auditing against relevant guidelines and standards
    • Supporting process improvement activities to address areas of non-compliance or ensure procedures are followed
    • Providing clinical input for use by growth and medical solutions teams
    • Support development of data collection and measurement of outcomes
    • Drive implementation of best practices and standards
    • Help plan for and support management of Medical and Clinical Operations to Ensure Financial Viability
    • Review data and reports that evaluate quality of services and identify opportunities for performance improvement

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $91,700 - $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
