POSITION SUMMARY

The RN Clinical Manager- Cardiology serves as a clinical and operational leader for cardiology services, supporting ambulatory patient care standards and quality improvement initiatives. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective care that meets established clinical standards and complies with all regulatory requirements.

The RN Clinical Manager acts as a liaison between providers, clinical staff, and leadership, addressing operational and patient care needs while ensuring appropriate delegation of responsibilities within scope of practice. The role is responsible for day-to-day clinical operations, staffing oversight, workflow optimization, and coordination of patient care activities within the cardiology service line.

The RN Clinical Manager determines clinical staff competencies, supports onboarding and training, and ensures appropriate resource allocation to meet patient volumes and service demands. Through collaboration and application of Total Quality Management (TQM) principles, this role drives performance improvement, standardization, and patient experience initiatives.

This position contributes to departmental planning and supports organizational goals by implementing policies, adapting to regulatory requirements, and responding to evolving patient and community needs. The RN Clinical Manager promotes a collaborative team environment, maintains accessibility to staff, and provides timely feedback and coaching to support staff development and engagement.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
  • Master's degree preferred not mandatory


LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of New Jersey
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLSHCP) required


EXPERIENCE:
  • 3-5 years of nursing experience, with prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Cardiology or ambulatory care experience strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of quality improvement, patient flow, and clinical operations
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in clinical applications preferred at hire; required within 30-60 days


PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

Demonstrates competencies as defined in the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position, including leadership, clinical quality, patient experience, and operational performance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Potential for exposure to blood borne pathogens along with infectious diseases. (Refers to Blood Bourne Pathogen requirement)

Exposure to typical healthcare environment risks, including infectious diseases, hazardous substances, and potential injury. The role requires sitting, standing, walking, stooping, and crouching throughout the workday. Regular use of clinical and office equipment, including computers, printers, and other standard devices.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

Reports to department leadership and supervises assigned clinical and support staff within the cardiology service line.
