The Endo/GI Center at the CHA Somerville Campus helps patients with a variety of digestive disorders. It includes a state-of-the-art endoscopy suite with four procedure rooms. Some of the procedures we perform include the following: Colonoscopy, Upper Endoscopy, ERCP, 24 hour PH Monitoring, Capsule Endoscopy, Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and Esophageal Motility.
The RN Clinical Leader assists the nurse manager in the overall coordination of clinical practice by assuming the responsibility and accountability for daily operations. The clinical leader assumes responsibility for and serves as a resource to the staff in clinical practice, staff development, clinical leadership, and professional growth in consistent collaboration with the nurse manager. The Endoscopy/Gastroenterology nurse knows and understands the philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures of nursing service. Clinical nursing leadership at Cambridge Health Alliance is manifested by personal commitment, accountability, and initiative in clinical practice. Patients are our priority. It is the clinical nurse who assists patients to reach their health care goals. The main purpose of the Endo/GI nurse is to provide quality patient care according to Cambridge Health Alliance and the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates standards of nursing practice. The role of the Endo/GI nurse is to assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document patient care in a professional manner. The GI nurse will demonstrate the ability to provide care in procedural, pre-and post procedural, and clinic settings.
Qualifications/Experience:
Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing Registration
Current RN MA licensure in good standing required. BSN preferred
American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications required
ABCGN Certification is preferred.
Good interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to work with detailed confidential material. Experience with EPIC documentation preferred.
Minimum 2 years current experience as an Endoscopy RN required, experience with administrating moderate sedation and recovery required.
Current Charge nurse experience required
