Full Job Description
Position Summary

The Training Manager leads the development, administration, and continuous improvement of job training, compliance training, and onboarding programs for a large, FDA regulated manufacturing operation.

This is a hands on, site based role rather than a corporate training position. The Training Manager will spend meaningful time in production areas, work closely with onsite leadership, safety, quality, HR, and subject matter experts, and help ensure associates are trained, qualified, and supported to perform their work safely and consistently.

The position supports training across two to three distinct operational areas. Each area may have different customers, work requirements, schedules, policies, and shift needs. The Training Manager must be comfortable working in a complex environment, getting into the details of operations, and developing practical solutions that can be sustained by the business.

The initial focus of the role is job training, work instruction compliance, onboarding, and floor based development. As the training function becomes more established, the role may also support leadership and supervisor development in partnership with HR.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Program Development: Design, deliver, and update training modules, playbooks, and curricula for technical, safety, and compliance needs.
  • Operational Alignment: Partner with plant leadership to align training with production goals, quality standards, and 30/60/90-day onboarding plans.
  • Effectiveness Evaluation: Establish KPIs, metrics, and assessments to measure training ROI and effectiveness.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all training meets regulatory and company safety standards and all FDA Work Instruction record keeping processes operate accurately and on time.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and coach training staff, coordinators, and instructors.
  • Technology Utilization: Leverage Learning Management Systems (LMS), e-learning tools, and, in some cases, virtual reality/simulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications Experience:
  • 5+ years in manufacturing, operations, or technical training management.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, education, engineering, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with LMS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, instructional design, and interpersonal skills.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing, and safety standards (e.g., OSHA).
