First Eagle is seeking an experienced operational risk professional to join our Enterprise Risk team and be based in Columbus, Ohio. The Enterprise Risk team is responsible for providing independent risk oversight and collaborates with other functions and departments to support the Firm's strategic goals. The successful candidate will lead the operational risk related workstreams and report to Head of Risk.
What you will do:
• Maintain and enhance firmwide Risk and Control Assessment framework to ensure continued applicability in line with internal and/or external changes
• Perform ongoing risk monitoring across business and functional areas, including and not limited to, developing and monitoring KRIs, providing periodic risk dashboard reporting, tracking and analyzing operational incidents
• Conduct deep-dive analysis on recurring issues for root cause, mitigation and prevention
• Provide risk and control gap analysis on newly established business operations and/or newly implemented operational workflows
• Develop internal audit plan based on risk assessment; coordinate with business departments for audit execution and track action plan post audit completion
• Act as trusted risk adviser and provide SME support on regulatory compliance matters, product development and management, vendor oversight, and emerging risk themes
• Ensure holistic risk coverage across business lines and functional areas, support risk governance and oversight by senior management
The qualities you should have:
• Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, accounting, statistics or related field
• 10+ years' relevant work experience with an investment management firm in operations, operational/enterprise risk management or internal audit, or with a consulting firm providing audit or advisory services
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills combined with control-oriented mindset; good understanding of key operational aspects and workflows at an investment management firm
• Comprehensive knowledge of equity and fixed income products and instruments including derivatives
• Balance multiple projects simultaneously, anticipate challenges and manage to deliver strong results in a timely manner
• Collaborative team player with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills; ability to develop and manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external contact points
Base Salary range: $130,000 to $170,000. In addition, this role is eligible for an annual incentive bonus. Compensation may vary based upon, but not limited to - the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
