Overview:This position will report into the Head of Model, Insurance, and Retail Risk in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM). The ERM team is composed of Actuaries, CFA charter holders, and risk professionals and is tasked with, among other things:
- Identifying and Assessing Risks
- Developing and testing of the Company's Risk Appetite
- Developing and maintenance of the Company's Risk Management Framework
- Establishing risk tolerances, and Limits
- Risk monitoring; and internal and external risk reporting
Responsibilities:- Develops, implements, and communicates model risk policies and procedures
- Supports the oversight and challenge of key model risk activities including model documentation, model adoption and change, and model validation
- Maintains a model risk register and follows up with key stakeholders on the remediation of findings
- Develops comprehensive and detailed model risk reports to help monitor and manage model risk
- Maintains a centralized catalogue of key MRM artifacts including Policy, Standards, templates, training materials, MRM risk register, leadership team meeting materials, and program execution documents
- Assesses and monitors model risk exposures
- Maintains and updates a centralized model and tool inventory
- Supports model validations as appropriate
- Supports the training of MRM program objectives and requirements
- Establishes strong relationships with model owners, model business owners, and model business users
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline
- 7+ years of experience required, with focus on model risk, actuarial and finance processes, operational risk, and/or insurance industry preferred
- Strong project management and collaboration skills
- Strong attention to detail and well organized; ability to prioritize, multi-task and work independently while delivering superior outcomes
- Strong analytical capabilities: demonstrated modeling capabilities in Financial Mathematics preferred
- Strong communicator through verbal, written and listening skills
- Quick learner and able to drive continuous improvement beyond own scope of responsibility; able to constructively challenge status quo
- Professional designations such as CFA or FRM a plus
Compensation:This range represents the minimum and maximum annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. The actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range. The base pay is based on factors including but not limited to experience, competence, and demonstration of proficiencies essential for the role. The base pay is just one component of Talcott's total annual compensation for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, long-term incentives and recognition.
