JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Vice President in Credit Risk Business Management at JPMorgan Chase, you will play a pivotal role supporting the Chief Credit Risk Officer and the Credit Risk Leadership team in driving business management activities and strategic initiatives. You will manage third-party provider relationships in accordance with firmwide standards, coordinate cross-functional deliverables, and help optimize group performance. This role offers the opportunity to work across teams, influence executive-level decisions, and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the Credit Risk function.

 

Job responsibilities

  • Support the Credit Risk Leadership team in day-to-day business management activities, including strategic planning, vendor management, procurement, efficiency identification, and resourcing planning
  • Monitor and report on the utilization of third-party providers, tracking forecast versus actuals against plan and clearly articulating variance drivers to key stakeholders
  • Develop compelling executive communications, including materials for business reviews and leadership forums, organizing complex information in a clear and strategic manner
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests related to vendor inquiries and oversight, project management, presentation development, and business analysis, while supporting audit, regulatory, and compliance deliverables as needed
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with cross-functional and Risk teams to support day-to-day operations and drive opportunities for greater efficiency and effectiveness
  • Coordinate activities and agenda-related initiatives, including materials for requests for information and proposals, vendor evaluation processes, and effective project delivery structures
  • Maintain strong organizational disciplines, controls, and practices, including adherence to policies and standards, creation of internal procedures and documentation, and use of document management tools
  • Proactively identify key risks and issues and drive resolution through a combination of strategic and tactical initiatives
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the successful delivery of complex, high-impact initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and stakeholder expectations
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, proactively communicating progress, risks, and mitigation strategies while maintaining transparency and stakeholder confidence
  • Champion continuous improvement by evaluating and enhancing delivery frameworks, leveraging industry best practices to strengthen operational effectiveness

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8 years of professional experience in business management, financial services, or a related field
  • Experience in risk management with proactive involvement in vendor management and supporting procurement of third-party providers
  • Experience working with multi-location, cross-functional teams
  • Strong, clear, and concise written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare and edit executive-level materials
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines while overseeing day-to-day vendor utilization
  • Proven ability to think strategically and oversee the coordination of third-party vendors within complex operating models
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build strong partnerships across teams and functions
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to adapt quickly and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel

  • Experience supporting senior leadership in a Chief Risk Officer or equivalent office environment
  • Familiarity with credit risk frameworks, processes, or financial services regulatory requirements
  • Experience managing or coordinating requests for information and proposal processes and vendor evaluation cycles
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives
  • Forward-thinking mindset with interest in and awareness of emerging technologies and their application in business management
