JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Strategic Analytics Lead within the Risk Team, you will lead the analytics team and providing recommendations concerning strategy development, implementation, operational controls, and performance monitoring.

Job responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain analytics that provide management with clear visibility into emerging trends, portfolio performance, and the quality of originated accounts.

  • Attain a detailed understanding of key performance metrics, risk indicators, and profitability drivers, enabling delivery of actionable insights across the account lifecycle.

  • Apply advanced analytical techniques, including machine learning and AI/LLM-based tools where appropriate, to support risk identification, trend analysis, and forecasting.

  • Partner with senior team members and governance functions to ensure analytical approaches, models, and AI-driven insights are appropriately controlled, documented, and aligned with internal standards.

  • Develop a working understanding of operational processes (e.g., underwriting, portfolio management, and transaction flows) to better assess portfolio behavior.

  • Translate complex data into clear, concise insights and recommendations; prepare materials suitable for management-level presentations and risk discussions.

  • Support cross-functional initiatives with Product, Technology, and Risk partners, contributing analytics and insights to inform strategic decisions.

  • Conduct ad hoc analyses and deep dives into portfolio trends, emerging risks, or business questions, providing practical recommendations to Risk Management.

  • Contribute to maintaining strong data quality and governance standards to ensure reliability and consistency of reporting and analytics.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Bachelors degree in finance or economics or quantitative
  • Minimum 5 years Risk Management or other quantitative experience required
  • Background in statistics, econometric, or other quantitative field required
  • Advanced understanding of SAS, SQL and AI/LLM
  • Ability to query large amounts of data and transform the raw data into actionable management information
  • Familiarity with risk analytic techniques
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience delivering recommendations to management

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • MS degree and 5 year Risk Management or other quantitative experience preferred
