Job Description

ACTIVE SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE TS/SCI POLYGRAPH LEVEL IS REQUIRED

Tackle high-stakes security challenges where speed, precision, and deep technical insight matter most! In this role, you will operate as a principal authority on malicious binary analysis, low-level program execution, and advanced threat mitigation. You won't just inspect code at a surface level-you'll dive deep into assembly, dissect complex malware architectures, hunt down advanced persistent threat (APT) indicators, and author precision signatures to protect critical networks. If you thrive on tearing apart sophisticated malicious payloads, evaluating complex attack vectors, and engineering proactive mitigation strategies to outsmart top-tier adversaries, you'll fit right in with Team Nyla.

The annual base salary range for this role is $154,000-$182,000 (USD) , which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.

Required Skills

  • Reverse Engineering & Assembly: Advanced proficiency in static and dynamic analysis of compiled binaries, with deep expertise reading and interpreting Assembly code.
  • Malware Analysis & Detection: Demonstrated experience dissecting malicious binaries, extracting IOCs, and attributing malware features to known threat actors/APTs.
  • Signature Creation: Production-level experience crafting custom YARA rules and SNORT signatures for threat detection and malware identification.
  • Computer Networking & Protocols: Thorough understanding of network protocols, packet analysis (e.g., Wireshark), client-server communication models, and network-level RE TTPs.
  • Risk Evaluation & Mitigation: Proven capability to assess systemic security risks, articulate technical impact, and formulate effective mitigation strategies.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cyber Security, or a related technical discipline, PLUS 10+ years of professional experience in reverse engineering, malware analysis, or vulnerability research OR Master's Degree in a related field, PLUS 8+ years of specialized technical experience OR High School Diploma / GED, PLUS 14+ years of hands-on technical experience in reverse engineering and low-level binary analysis in lieu of a degree.

Desired Skills

Tooling Proficiency: Deep familiarity with industry-standard analysis suites such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, Binary Ninja, x64dbg, GDB, and Volatility.

Scripting & Automation: Strong proficiency in Python or C/C++ for automating reverse engineering tasks, custom plugin development, and protocol decoding.

Kernel & OS Internals: Deep working knowledge of Windows/Linux operating system internals, memory management, processes, and kernel driver interactions.

Emulation & Sandbox Engineering: Experience building, configuring, or modifying automated detonation environments and dynamic execution sandboxes.
