Fuel Pricing Analyst leads fuel pricing strategy across our network of 300+ company-operated convenience stores throughout the Northeast and Southeast. This role will oversee all day-to-day retail fuel pricing decisions while developing long-term pricing strategies focused on maximizing fuel margin, driving traffic, increasing inside store conversion, and maintaining market competitiveness. This is a high-impact role that combines pricing strategy, data analytics, market intelligence, field operations, and retail execution. The ideal candidate must possess deep fuel pricing experience, advanced knowledge of retail pricing systems, strong understanding of competitor behavior, and the ability to translate large data sets into actionable pricing strategies. The Fuel Pricing Analyst will work directly with executive leadership, operations, and field teams to optimize pricing performance across all markets.

Major Duties/Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all retail fuel pricing activities across 300+ company-operated locations, ensuring competitive and profitable pricing strategies multiple times daily.

  • Manage and optimize day-to-day fuel pricing utilizing Kalibrate Pricing and various pricing intelligence and market survey tools.

  • Develop strategic pricing models and market-by-market pricing strategies based on wholesale costs, competitor movements, traffic patterns, elasticity, weather events, market supply conditions, and consumer demand trends.

  • Analyze fuel margin performance, volume trends, traffic counts, customer retention metrics, and inside sales impact to maximize overall site profitability.

  • Monitor competitor pricing strategies, promotions, market share shifts, and regional pricing behavior to identify risks and opportunities across all operating regions.

  • Conduct advanced tactical analysis utilizing large data sets to identify pricing trends, mitigate operational risks, forecast market movements, and improve pricing performance.

  • Develop and maintain KPI reporting related to margin performance, volume growth, customer retention, traffic trends, market share, and pricing effectiveness.

  • Oversee the integrity, maintenance, and continuous improvement of all retail fuel pricing systems and related data infrastructure.

  • Conduct quarterly field visits across operating markets to evaluate competitive positioning, traffic flow, customer behavior, pricing perception, and site-level execution.

  • Provide executive-level reporting and recommendations regarding market conditions, pricing strategies, competitive threats, and growth opportunities.

  • Lead pricing strategy discussions during supply disruptions, allocation events, weather emergencies, and periods of extreme market volatility.

  • Build strong communication channels with store operations teams, field leadership, and senior management to ensure alignment and rapid execution of pricing initiatives.

Education/Experience/Skill Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of fuel pricing experience within the convenience store sector.

  • Experience with Kalibrate Pricing Software is required.

  • Proven experience managing large-scale retail pricing operations across multi-site retail networks.

  • Advanced analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret large and complex data sets into actionable business strategies.

  • Strong understanding of consumer behavior, traffic analytics, customer retention trends, and retail performance metrics.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to work cross-functionally across multiple departments and leadership levels.

  • High level of operational awareness with the ability to balance profitability, competitiveness, and customer perception simultaneously.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, reporting tools, and pricing analytics platforms.
