Job Summary and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY :Develops and maintains systems to promote high levels of patient, employee and physician satisfaction; as well as external customer satisfaction. Assumes 24-hour department accountability. Responsible for assuring adequate staffing and maintaining appropriate productivity standards. Oversees unit Environment of Care and other key regulatory functions. The Clinical Manager demonstrates an understanding of the budget process and staffing plan, implementing cost-effective strategies in staffing and supply management decisions. Demonstrates advanced knowledge and skills in the care of patients in designated areas. Ability to perform all duties outlined in the job description of Respiratory Therapist dept. 754. Participates in interviewing, mentoring, coaching, evaluating and disciplining process. Develops unit specific goals including: program development, quality improvements and patient safety initiatives. Develops and implements unit specific competencies annual performance of staff. The Clinical Manager supports the mission, vision, values, goals and objectives of Sky Ridge Medical Center and Health One/HCA organization.

Position Requirements:

A. Licensure/Certification/Registration:

Maintains current licensure

Current BLS certification

Current ACLS certification

Current PALS certification.

B. Education:

Bachelor's degree strongly preferred

RRT credentialrequired

C. Experience:

Five years clinician experience preferred. Three years supervisor experience preferred.

D. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Expert knowledge of all respiratory care principles and procedures. Employee must be able to handle a variety of responsibilities under pressure. Must function independently and make appropriate decisions.
