Join our team at Shepherd of the Valley Rehabilitation and Wellness as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide expert respiratory care that enhances patient recovery and well-being through technical proficiency and compassionate service!

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in respiratory therapy, critical care, and patient assessment, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality respiratory support and patient care. Responsibilities
  • Receive and follow schedule/instructions from your supervisor and as outlined in our established policies and procedures
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures of the community to which the position is assigned
  • Perform focused interviews to identify specific patients' needs
  • Assess signs and symptoms indicating physiological and psychosocial changes in the patient's condition
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data and information from health care members and documents actual and/or potential diagnoses
  • Plan for outcomes of care for assigned patients
  • Perform interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, and the company policies and patient care outcome standards
  • Follow to emergency, safety and infection control procedures of the community to which the position is assigned
  • Promote and participate in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications
  • Report and document changes in the patient's respiratory status to the Physician, Nurse and others responsible for oversight of patient care, prior to exiting community
  • Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel, as well as other departments within the community

Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Respiratory Therapist
  • Minimum of associate degree from an accredited school
  • Graduate of a respiratory care program required
  • Bachelor of Science degree in the health care field preferred
  • Proof of having passed the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Must hold a current CPR/BLS and ACLS certification
