Full Job Description
Support and assist the Nurse Manager in the coordination of patient care. Utilizes the nursing process to effectively assess the evaluate the needs of patients. Addresses system issues to facilitate the provision of quality care. Delegates appropriately to other team members. Utilizes communication skills, leadership ability, time management and problem solving skills and teamwork to facilitate the daily operation of the unit. Makes customer needs a priority . Plans, implements and evaluates nursing care collaboratively in accordance with the scope of nursing practice. Supports the goals and philosophy of the Department of Nursing within the St. Joseph's Health. Serves as the main clinical resource for any issues/questions related to areas of specialty.
Qualifications
Knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing or closely related field and two to three years of previous work related experience required. Licensure required as a Registered Nurse by the State of New Jersey. Minimum of 1 year ED RN experience. Successful completion of BLS, PALS, ACLS, and TNCC required. CEN Preferred.
Effective January 2019, St. Joseph's Health requires all employee certifications for Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) to be granted through the American Heart Association.
