Overview

The Resource Management team is part of KPMG's National Audit & Assurance Resource Management Team, leading initiatives that centralize, standardize and automate processes to effectively deploy resources in support of high quality, efficient audits.

The Resource Management Lead is part of the Audit BC team and can be located in our Vancouver, Langley, Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Victoria, Prince George, Vernon, Kamloops, or Kelowna office.

Key responsibilities include mentoring and supporting the GEO Resource Management Team, optimizing resource allocation and capacity planning, and maintaining strong relationships with Audit & Assurance leadership.

The role also supports forecasting and capacity analysis related to hiring, attrition, promotions, and other workforce metrics to deliver data-driven insights that improve resource allocation and utilization.

What you will do

  • Documentation of System of Quality Management (SoQM) Controls, including follow-up with Leadership and resources, and working with National SoQM team with process updates.
  • In conjunction with Leadership, monitor monthly and annual headcount plans
  • Lead and coach a GEO Resource Management Team. Drive consistency within the GEO in implementing and executing National Resource Management guidelines.
  • Support and contribute improvements to National Resource Management tools and processes such as Firmwide Scheduling Tool, Standard Reporting, and Engagement Budget Tool.
  • Produce and provide input to Leadership with utilization reports, forecasts and variance reports.
  • Understand engagements that require staffing. Identify available resources, matching skills with engagement requirements. Where required, facilitate the use of resources from within other GEOs.
  • Provide advanced warning of resource availability to GEO Leadership and National Resource Management Team
  • Proactively monitor and measure process and systems compliance for all assigned resource. Ensure that chargeable and non-chargeable time for all levels are up to date in the scheduling tool.
  • Support staffing across GEO and facilitate conflict resolution with respect to staffing
  • Utilizing our engagement budget tool, work with engagement teams to allocate resources for new client engagements and maintain schedules of existing engagements
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders including Learning and Development, Audit Quality, Audit Operations, National Resource Managers and Leaders across Audit, Tax and Advisory.
  • Engage regularly with Develop Partners, Functional Managing Partners, Audit & Assurance Partners and Resource Managers across the country.
  • Drive process consistency and efficiency across GEO.

What you bring to the role

  • 5+ years of Resource Management, Workforce Optimization or other related experience.
  • Strong relationship building skills with experience in engaging leaders at all levels and partnering with internal teams;
  • An agent of change, you are open minded, practical and agile with change and effectively manage pressure;
  • Ability to work and navigate effectively in a matrix organization/partnership structure;
  • Strong computer skills, Power BI, MS word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Experience with resource forecasting tools is an asset

KPMG BC Pay Range Information
The expected base salary range for this position is $80,000 to $130,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant's base salary within this range is based on the individual's location, skills, & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
