Weston & Sampson is seeking a Resident Engineer to provide field observation for an exciting cleanup project in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This work is taking place within a critical wastewater infrastructure facility serving the Greater Boston AreaThe cleanup effort will play a key role in improving indoor air quality and overall environmental conditions.

Following completion of the project, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to transition into a full-time role with our remediation practice.
What you'll do:- Provide full-time, on-site observation of construction activities, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance
- Serve as the primary field liaison between the client, contractor, and project team
- Monitor paint abatement and remediation activities, evaluating contractor performance and adherence to environmental controls
- Coordinate closely with client representatives, engineers, and support staff across offices
- Review contractor submittals, schedules, shop drawings, and documentation
- Support contract administration and help interpret project specifications and requirements
- Lead or participate in project meetings, including kickoff and bi-weekly progress updates
- Maintain detailed field documentation, including daily logs and formal reports (daily/weekly/monthly)
- Identify and report non-conforming work and ensure corrective action
- Maintain organized project files and compliance records
What you will bring:- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in resident engineering for public projects
- Strong understanding of construction inspection practices, contract documents, and field documentation
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
- OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety certification (29 CFR 1926 compliant)
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER with current 8-hour refresher
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Massachusetts PE License or EIT preferred
- Experience working in wastewater or stormwater treatment facilities is a plus
- Ability to collaborate effectively with contractors, engineers, and regulatory agencies
Hourly Rate: $45.00-$54.00 an hour.
