Location: Spring, TXThis opportunity sits within a refinery and chemical complex environment, supporting Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) and Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) initiatives through reservoir performance management, technical evaluation, and production optimization. The role offers the chance to contribute to hydrocarbon recovery, CO2 storage capacity, reservoir simulation, and long-term asset development strategies. This position will work across multidisciplinary teams to help maximize reservoir value and support technically driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities: - Manage reservoir performance and conduct technical evaluations of EOR assets to maximize hydrocarbon recovery, CO2 storage capacity, and overall project value.
- Perform analytical reservoir engineering studies, including material balance analysis, decline curve analysis (DCA), pressure transient analysis (PTA), and production performance evaluations.
- Develop, calibrate, and maintain dynamic reservoir simulation models to support forecasting and strategic decision-making.
- Evaluate injection and production patterns to optimize reservoir sweep efficiency and improve field performance.
- Generate reservoir and economic forecasts to support asset management, development planning, and investment decisions.
- Assess field development opportunities and provide technical support for well interventions, production enhancement, and conformance improvement initiatives.
- Deliver technical recommendations to optimize production and injection strategies while balancing operational and economic objectives.
- Partner with geology, drilling, production, facilities, and commercial teams to develop integrated reservoir management solutions.
- Support storage containment assessments, abandonment evaluations, reserves estimation, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Contribute to annual reserves and volume certification processes, technical documentation, and audit support activities.
Required Skills: - Proven background in reservoir engineering, with experience in material balance, decline curve analysis, and pressure transient analysis.
- Practical exposure to EOR operations and CO2 storage / CCUS initiatives.
- Skilled in dynamic reservoir simulation and modeling to support production forecasting and business decisions.
- Experience assessing injection and production behavior to improve sweep efficiency and overall reservoir performance.
- Knowledge of reserves evaluation, annual volume certification, and related regulatory requirements.
