Job Summary
Responsible for executing advanced experimental protocols, supporting interdisciplinary research initiatives, and maintaining high-performance laboratory and cyberinfrastructure systems. Provides technical expertise, ensures research continuity, and contributes to scientific advancement through data analysis, troubleshooting, and innovation. Coordinates collaborative efforts across teams, mentors junior staff, and aligns lab practices with regulatory and institutional standards. Develops research capabilities that accelerate discovery in academic and clinical research environments.
Essential Functions
• Designs and conducts moderately complex scientific experiments, optimizing protocols to meet evolving research objectives.
• Analyzes and interprets experimental data, prepares visualizations, and contributes to scientific publications and grant applications.
• Builds and supports laboratory and computing systems, including configurations that enable high-performance research workflows.
• Monitors system performance, applies patches and upgrades, and ensures the security and integrity of research environments.
• Maintains detailed records of experimental procedures, system configurations, and research outcomes for audit and reproducibility.
• Ensures compliance with institutional, federal, and safety standards.
• Guides and mentors junior technologists, students, and lab personnel in technical procedures and research methods.
• Coordinates daily laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance, procurement, and vendor interactions.
• Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders including faculty, IT professionals, and vendors to support interdisciplinary research.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Requirement
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field
Experience Requirement
5+ years of experience
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. All experience must be paid and in the same related field. Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week. Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.
