Summary:

Performs clinical and administrative functions in support of the design, implementation, and management of clinical research projects. Has direct supervision of Research Specialists in designated specialty.

Responsibilities:

Monitors the quality assurance process. Participates in QA/QI initiatives to ensure the department's compliance with applicable standards of care and regulatory requirements.Direct supervision of research specialists in designated specialty, including hiring, work product and performance management.Participates in the selection, education, testing and monitoring of research project patients. Collaborates with other healthcare providers to ensure continuity and efficacy of study protocols and patient care.Documents patient/study results using departmental information systems and applications. Communicates patient/study results on an on-going basis to research team.Assists with designing and procuring funding for new study protocols. Assists with the preparation, submission and management of internal/external compliance documentation at all stages of the research project.
