Job SummaryThe UVEX Research Group in the Division of Physics, Mathematics & Astronomy is seeking a research scientist to develop and implement a test and screening facility for UV CMOS detectors. UVEX is a Caltech-led NASA mission focused on ultraviolet observations of the dynamic universe. The position is part of Caltech's Space Radiation Laboratory, which develops and operates science missions for NASA. Essential Job Duties- Develop and implement a test and screening facility for UV CMOS detectors for the UVEX mission.
- Assist in the design of a calibration facility for the UVEX instrument module.
- Develop novel low-noise CCD and CMOS devices.
- Participation in the integration and test of the UVEX instrument module.
- Analyze test data and perform astrophysics simulations for the UVEX mission.
Basic Qualifications- PhD in astrophysics or related field.
- At least three years' experience with UV space hardware.
- Experience with integration and test of UV space instrumentation.
Required DocumentsHiring Range$79.7K - $145K per year
