- Serve as a Physiologist overseeing the operations of the Department of Clinical Investigation (DCI).
- Support the development, review, and approval of research protocols, ensuring full compliance with federal and institutional standards.
- Guide research staff on the acquisition and handling of extramural research resources.
- Provide constructive reviews for staff in writing of research protocols, manuscripts, and presentations.
- Conduct lectures, workshops, and seminars to graduate medical education faculty on Physiology to include cardiovascular, renal or neuroendocrinolo
- Mentor new civilian and military personnel on physiological research principles.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Basic Requirement for the Research Physiologist:Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in one of the basic animal sciences or physiology; or a related discipline or field of science that included at least 24 semester hours in the basic animal sciences, of which 10 semester hours were in animal physiology.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes work that involves perform research investigation into cardiovascular, neuroendocrinology or renal therapeutic areas with emphasis on research on trauma and physiological monitoring, prolonged field care, clinical rehabilitative medicine, resuscitation strategies, tissue injury treatment and publish peers review manuscripts and compete for research grants and mentor junior scientists and post-doctoral students.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted.
