As the Research & Evaluation Consultant on our Patient's Medical Home (PMH) team, you'll assist in the development and implementation of standards for evaluation and with strategic evaluation projects. You'll also build key internal and external relationships that support the evaluation needs across the organization.
This role is primarily a work from home position with occasional in-person responsibilities; therefore, the successful candidate must be located within the Calgary Zone or the surrounding area (e.g., Cochrane, Canmore, Airdrie, etc.).
Responsibilities- Create evaluation frameworks and evaluation plans that meet the goals of the organization's strategic plan.
- Develop and implement evaluation strategies to assess the impact of all PMH team activities.
- Support all departments with evaluation needs that relate to the strategic business plan.
- Work with clinical teams to implement self-management evaluation projects.
- Create and implement surveys.
- Build effective data collection strategies to measure program outcomes.
- Support and mentor team members in their learning of evaluation.
- Share knowledge and provide evaluation support across the organization.
- Ensure all evaluation projects meet a specific standard for projects (e.g. use of frameworks, methodologies used appropriately, etc.) and ensure that proper documentation is undertaken and maintained.
- Collaborate with team members to support the measurement and reporting of evaluation outcomes of the PMH and departmental evaluation projects.
- Act as the project manager for strategic evaluation projects.
- Adhere to ethical standards for conducting evaluations and managing data.
- Ensure accreditation requirements are implemented as related to evaluation.
- Use a data- and evidence-informed approach in all evaluation activities.
RequirementsEducation: A master's degree with formal training in applied research or evaluation design and methodology, epidemiology, biostatistics, social sciences or a comparable discipline with a strong complement of quantitative and qualitative health information analysis training is
required.Experience: A minimum of
three - five years' experience with the following is
required:
- Research and/or evaluation experience working with applied healthcare evaluations
- Experience with healthcare data and large databases
- Experience with, and knowledge of, clinical measurement frameworks (e.g. CIHI, HEDIS, and PQRS)
A minimum of
two years' experience with the following is
required:
- Management of applied research or program evaluation projects
The following experience is an
asset: - A minimum of one year of experience with visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Qlikview, Power BI) for reporting
- A minimum of two years' experience with supervising and coaching employees
Certification: Completion (or in the process of completing) the ARECCI level one reviewer certificate is required (may be completed during first year of employment - as available through Health Innovates).
Functional knowledge: Knowledge of and experience in the field of primary health care or other areas within health that directly interface with primary health care.
Technical: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams); collaboration software (Monday.com); visualization software (Tableau); statistical software (SPSS, Stata, SAS), survey software; and qualitative analysis software.
