Responsibilities

The Research Engineer will apply their expertise and knowledge to technical projects, and find innovative, cost-effective means to conduct and improve research, techniques, technologies, and products. The incumbent will be accountable for designing, developing, conducting, and evaluating new approaches to ensure research and project objectives are met. The Research Engineer will be responsible for associated laboratory work, and will generate, evaluate and analyze data, prepare and present reports and findings.
This position will support execution of an industry research contract, including experimental tests using pyrolysis kiln, collection of produced samples, Material Balances, and analysis of the data collected and interpretation

Qualifications

Education:
- Master's degree in a relevant discipline, PhD in relevant position preferred

Experience:
- 3 years' working experience in a related academic research environment
- Work on postdoctoral research portfolio, directly related to the research focus preferred

Skills, Abilities & Expertise:
- Communication skills with the ability to complete detailed analytics and reports
- Ability to collaborate across internal and external boundaries to meet common objectives, improve outcomes and support work beyond one's own unit
- Advanced skills in software and applications supporting the research development and analysis
- Ability to provide solutions and ideas for improvement by using imaginative approaches where constructive thinking and innovation are required
