Summary:

The Alliance Relationship Manager is responsible for alliances and strategic initiatives within the Clinical Research department.  Creating and managing alliances from inception through the alliance lifecycle while engaging with internal stakeholders and partner contacts to meet contractual obligations and maximize partnership value.  The Alliance Relationship Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams to plan and drive research initiatives with internal leaders and development partners.  This role will work to resolve alliance issues that may arise, escalate issues, and communicate alliance and initiative performance to leaders and support reporting for other internal committees and systems/tools.

Demonstrates working knowledge of all facets of role, relevant regulations, and organizational and departmental policies and procedures.  Performs other duties and projects as assigned.  Performs all duties in accordance with compliance regulatory requirements and organizational policies and procedures.

PRIMARY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Partnership Management:
    • Serves as the primary liaison between FCS and external research related customers
    • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with diverse stakeholders (Industry, technology partners, advocacy, FCS leadership, physicians, etc.) and cultivates partnerships with external groups independently.
    • Gathers valuable insights and feedback from industry sponsors on FCS operations, medical services, investigators, and sites to help guide research program direction and/or performance.
    • Creates and delivers research presentations and industry trends to research teams/staff.
    • Organizes and hosts collaborative meetings/exchanges with early / late phase medical directorship.
    • Participates in professional associations and developmental activities to remain informed regarding new development in the field and disseminate information to department personnel.
    • Identifies opportunities for potential partnerships and ensure expectations / contractual obligations are met with existing partners.

  • Strategic Initiatives Execution
    • Leads and executes major enterprise clinical research initiatives within allocated budgets and timelines.
    • Independently uses and applies wide-ranging experience and proficiency to develop a tactical plan (i.e. roadmap, workflows) for project execution.
    • Engages multiple stakeholders and collaborates across multiple department to  identify the necessary expertise or resources to bring the project to completion.
    • Monitors the milestones, timelines and progress of multiple-complex, simultaneous projects.
    • Interfaces with leaders to formulate and evaluate alternative solutions, design metrics and provide recommendations to achieve the goals of strategic initiatives.
  • Independent Program Support:
    • Generates new business, collaborative partnerships and/or grant opportunities to ensure a sustainable program.
    • Evaluates new collaborative opportunities, conducts feasibility analysis, assesses the resource requirements, manages the approval process and monitors the project progress and outcomes.
    • Develops and negotiates accurate and institutionally compliant project contracts and budgets in collaboration with the physician scientists, administration, legal, compliance and others.
    • Facilities grant or foundation submissions to support program goals.

  • Additional tasks as needed to support team and FCS.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, health administration, or life science related field required
  • Preferred: Masters or advanced degree in related field

EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in clinical research
  • Minimum of three (3) years of projects or programs
  • Oncology clinical trials experience desired
