Job Summary:

The Reporting Engineer supports the Project Controls function by preparing accurate, timely, and consistent performance, analytics, and business reports that help inform decision-making and project delivery. Working under the direction of the Reporting Manager, the role compiles and validates data, produces standard and ad hoc reports, and maintains reporting tools in line with established standards.

The position works with project and functional teams to gather reporting requirements, verify data quality, and contribute to the continuous improvement of reporting processes and tools #LI-SM2

Major Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver project, program, and business performance reports for management, following established reporting standards and schedules.
  • Compile, validate, and reconcile reporting data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.
  • Assist in maintaining reporting standards, processes, templates, and key performance indicators (KPIs) under the guidance of senior reporting staff.
  • Produce trend, forecast, and performance analyses to support routine reporting and flag issues for review.
  • Support data quality checks and help resolve discrepancies in reporting data and management information.
  • Work with project and functional teams to gather reporting requirements and clarify performance measures.
  • Use Power BI and other business intelligence tools to build and update dashboards, visualizations, and automated reports.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of reporting processes, tools, and templates.


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires a University Hire with 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience


Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Some experience in reporting, analytics, or business intelligence, preferably in a project-based or operational environment.
  • Working knowledge of reporting methods, performance measurement, and data analysis practices.
  • Familiarity with project controls concepts, including cost, schedule, progress, and performance reporting.
  • Experience preparing reports, dashboards, and scorecards to support decision-making.
  • Proficiency with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools, including building dashboards, data visualization, and basic report automation.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to present information clearly.
  • Strong attention to details and a commitment to data accuracy and quality.
