Job Description Summary
Contract professional supporting the Defense & Systems business contract life cycle including cradle to grave contract management and critical product line partnership duties in government and commercial contracting environments. The Defense & Systems Contracts Team is the primary focal to government, airframer and commercial procurement customers and accountable for contracting actions across all phases of a Program: proposal strategy, solution development, production, sustainment and closeout. The Contracts Team provides expert knowledge in customer relationships and regulations, contract terms, price and profit negotiation, risk analysis and mitigation strategies, and scope and change management. As a trusted partner to the business, Contracts collaborates across multiple functions with a focus on meeting business objectives while balancing customer expectations.

This role supports theRotorcraft & Turboprop Engines business division and sits within the Contracts function. The Contracts Manager partners with cross-functional stakeholders (program, engineering, finance, supply chain, legal, and compliance) to manage a portfolio of contracts from capture through execution and closeout, while supporting the pursuit of new business with U.S. Government and other governmental customers.

This position isremote, with periodic travel as required.

Role Overview

TheContracts Manager provides proactive contract management support across an assigned portfolio, leading contracts management activities from solicitation/capture through execution, change management, dispute resolution, and closeout.

The role requires comprehensive knowledge ofgovernment contract regulations and requirements, along with strong judgment, the ability to assess risk, and the skill to develop creative and practical solutions to complex business challenges. The Contracts Manager works directly with internal stakeholders across the organization and interfaces externally with governmental customers to drive compliant, timely, and high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
Contract Portfolio Leadership: Lead contract management for an assigned portfolio, ensuring disciplined execution from capture through closeout. Multi-Contract Support: Provide direct support across multiple contract types and complexity levels, including fixed price, cost reimbursement, prime and subcontracts, and Part 12/Part 15 contracts across development and production programs. Solicitation & Proposal Support: Assess solicitations; support proposal strategy, proposal compilation, and development of contractual positioning aligned to business objectives and compliance requirements. Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Partner cross-functionally to assess business and contractual risk; recommend mitigation strategies; and support disposition of FAR/DFARS requirements and commercial terms and conditions. Negotiation & Audit Support: Support audits and lead or support negotiations to achieve sound commercial outcomes while maintaining compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Execution & Change Management: Manage contract operations, including modifications, change control, customer communications, and documentation to support execution requirements. Customer Relationship Management: Maintain effective customer relationships through clear communication, responsiveness, and proactive contract administration. Claims, Disputes & Closeout: Administer claims and disputes as needed and drive timely contract closeout with accurate documentation and compliance. Compliance & Continuous Improvement: Demonstrate commitment to compliance, quality, timeliness, and continuous improvement in contract processes and execution. Special Projects: Participate in special projects as assigned to support business needs and functional improvement.Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
  • Experience: Minimum5 years of experience in government, commercial, or international contract formation and execution
  • Regulatory Expertise: Working expertise administering commercial terms and conditions and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), with emphasis onPart 12 (Acquisition of Commercial Items) and Part 15 (Contracting by Negotiation), and the DoD Supplement (DFARS)
  • Travel: Periodic travel as required
  • This role will require in-person attendance for New Hire Orientation on Day 1

  • The base pay range for this position is $112,000.00 - $149,000.00. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan.
