Full Job Description
ABOUT THIS FEATURED OPPORTUNITY

Join a team developing next-generation systems where reliability is critical to mission success. This is a highly hands-on role that offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge optical hardware, collaborate across engineering disciplines, and directly influence product quality, qualification, and long-term performance. You'll play a key role in ensuring advanced optical systems can withstand demanding environmental conditions and meet stringent reliability requirements.

THE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU

As a Reliability Test Engineer, you will develop and execute reliability test plans for optical systems, components, and assemblies. You'll work closely with design, manufacturing, quality, and reliability teams to perform environmental testing including thermal cycling, vibration, HALT/HASS, and life testing.

On a day-to-day basis, you'll operate environmental test equipment, analyze reliability data, investigate failures, perform root cause analysis, and provide recommendations that improve product performance and reliability. You'll utilize statistical reliability methods such as Weibull analysis and acceleration modeling to support lifetime predictions and qualification efforts while contributing to Design for Reliability (DfR) initiatives across the product lifecycle.

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

Must Haves
  • Experience developing and executing reliability test plans
  • Hands-on experience with environmental testing equipment (thermal chambers, vibration systems, HALT/HASS, life testing, etc.)
  • Strong statistical data analysis and reliability engineering experience, including failure analysis and root cause investigations
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field

NICE TO HAVES
  • Experience with reliability analysis tools such as ReliaSoft, Weibull++, Minitab, or JMP
  • Background in optics, opto-electronics, optical communications, or photonics systems
  • Experience with PCBA testing, inspection, and failure analysis
  • Familiarity with reliability standards such as Telcordia GR-468, MIL-STD-810, JEDEC, or MIL-HDBK-217
  • Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, or other test automation/data analysis scripting experience
  • Experience supporting FMEA, RCA, and Design for Reliability (DfR) initiatives
