Full Job Description
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for providing professional service and technical support to the plant as a subject matter expert in maintenance and reliability best practices. The role provides oversight for the Reliability Improvement Team and leads key functions including maintenance management systems, maintenance data and cost analysis, maintenance training and maintenance document control. Reliability Improvement Team efforts are focused on cultivating a proactive maintenance department where every member is aligned with best practices.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  1. Provide leadership, direction, training, and supervision to the Reliability Improvement Team. Set clear performance objectives aligned with maintenance department goals and ensure team members have the resources and support needed to achieve them.
  2. Is accountable for the implementation, integration and support of maintenance software systems. Develop and maintain auditing processes to ensure system functionality, data accuracy, user compliance and continuous system improvement.
  3. Is accountable for collecting, analyzing and reporting maintenance and reliability KPIs using the CMMS and other data sources. Automate data processes where possible to drive accurate reporting, proactive decision-making and continuous improvement.
  4. Measures and analyzes reliability performance data to identify plant-wide improvement opportunities. Provide insights that inform strategic decision-making, improve equipment performance, and support cross-departmental reliability initiatives.
  5. Is accountable for the development and leadership of a structured maintenance training program to support the technical development of Mechanical Maintenance personnel. Ensure the program aligns with current and future skill requirements.
  6. Establish and maintain systems for evaluating maintenance technician performance and execution efficiency. Use findings to support coaching, training, and process improvements.
  7. Is accountable for implementing a user-friendly maintenance document-control system in accordance with the NAS MOC process and applicable regulations. Ensure availability of accurate and up-to-date documentation.
  8. Provide support to area Reliability Engineers by facilitating alignment with Reliability strategies, developing standardized tools and processes, providing training and development opportunities and offering technical guidance.
  9. Participate in equipment upgrades, capital projects, and new equipment installations to ensure design for maintainability, reliability, and ergonomic efficiency.
  10. In collaboration with Maintenance and Stores personnel, implement and continuously improve maintenance spare parts processes including critical spares identification, spares preservation and availability to support reliable equipment operation.
  11. Is accountable for the tracking and analysis of maintenance expenditures in order to provide data-driven insights for improving budget accuracy, forecasting future costs and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  12. Stay informed of new software, equipment and techniques by reading appropriate journals, associating with professional organizations, trade associations, colleagues, equipment vendors, service companies, consultants, and government agencies, and attending conferences, training courses, and continuing education courses as appropriate.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Ten years of relevant maintenance experience.
  • Advanced and versatile computer skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, with multi-task & problem solving abilities
  • Proven experience in project development and execution

PHYSICAL ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Mobility in plant
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, etc.
  • The employee is frequently required to make use of their hands for technical tasks
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Visual ability with or without correction
  • Communication abilities

HEALTH AND SAFETY:
  1. Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations
  2. Comply with company safety rules, policies, procedures, as well as job specific work instructions and JSAs.
  3. Report the absence of or defect in any personal protective equipment or clothing to the Supervisor or Manager immediately
  4. Use and wear the personal protective equipment, protective devices and clothing that is required. The following is the minimum:
    1. Metatarsal boots
    2. Safety glasses
    3. Hearing protection
    4. Hard Hat Some areas may require additional personal protective equipment such as:
    5. Respirators; the respirator requires you to be clean shaven in order to comply with company policies and procedures as well as OSHA Regulations.
    6. Fire Retardant clothing
    7. Acid PPE
  5. Report to the Safety Coordinator, Group Lead or Supervisor any contravention of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations or Company policies or procedures
  6. Must follow all Lockout Tag out (LOTO) guidelines for designated equipment and machinery
  7. Must follow all Environmental Policies and Regulations
  8. Maintain a clean and safe work area

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  1. Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations
  2. Clean, well ventilated and safe work areas.
