Position SummaryThe Reliability Engineer is responsible for improving asset reliability, reducing unplanned downtime, and optimizing maintenance strategies across equipment and systems. This role applies reliability engineering principles, data analysis, and root cause methodologies to increase equipment availability, safety, and lifecycle value.
Job ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Manager - Pellet Plant, the Reliability Engineer will
be responsible for the following:
- Develop and implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and preventive/predictive maintenance strategies
- Analyze equipment performance, failure data, and maintenance history to identify trends and risks
- Conduct root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and lead corrective action initiatives
- Define and track reliability KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, availability, OEE, etc.)
- Support condition monitoring programs (vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermography, ultrasound, etc.)
- Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to improve asset performance
- Participate in equipment selection, design reviews, and commissioning to ensure reliability best practices
- Optimize spare parts strategies and maintenance plans to reduce costs and downtime
- Prepare technical reports, recommendations, and presentations for stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards
Skills and Qualifications- 3+ years of experience in reliability, maintenance, or asset management (experience level adjustable)
- Strong knowledge of reliability engineering principles and maintenance strategies
- Experience with CMMS/EAM/ERP systems
- Working knowledge of failure analysis techniques (FMEA, RCA, Weibull analysis)
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (Excel, Power BI, SQL, etc.)
Education- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field), or technical degree with relevant work experience.
Physical Requirements- This position is a mixture of field work and office duties. Field work will be conducted daily throughout the year so exposure to the elements (rain, snow, cold, heat, etc) is to be expected. The office duties will require work in front of a laptop, desk, and phone. Some lifting and strength required when working in mill.
Salary Range:
- $100,000 - $128,500 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
