Full Job Description
About the Role
As the CBRE Reliability Asset Engineer, you will be the on-site reliability resource responsible for building structure around the site's asset base - a function that has been handled remotely and requires a dedicated, present expert to be effective. You will work alongside the Site Supervisor, maintenance technicians, Maintenance Planner, and CBRE management to drive asset strategy, failure analysis, and continuous improvement across a complex, multi-environment operation.
This is not a role where you do the same thing every day. The site is dynamic, agricultural-cycle-driven, and constantly evolving. Success in this role requires someone who is methodical and structured by nature but flexible in application - someone who can build rigor into a fast-moving operation without slowing it down.
Winery-specific experience is not required and can be trained on-site. What matters is a strong foundation in reliability engineering methods and the ability to apply them in a new context.
Site Context
This role supports a dynamic, high-output operation that includes high-speed manufacturing, bottling lines, guest experience facilities, general office, storage, warehousing, and wastewater and drain water systems. Understanding the operational rhythm of this site is essential.
The site operates two production lines: one runs seasonally for approximately six months per year filling bottles, and a second line runs daily for 11-12 months per year across one or two shifts producing finished goods and empty cages. Output adapts continuously to market demand, meaning downtime is not predictable and all maintenance personnel must be capable of supporting an active bottling line.
The site operates on a two-shift model with three technicians per shift. During harvest season - typically six to eight weeks, generally falling between early August and mid-September, though timing can vary year to year - maintenance moves to a 24/7 schedule. Shifts restructure into three 8-hour rotations across six days, with a dedicated Sunday check-in to ensure facility integrity. No time off is permitted during harvest. All candidates must be comfortable with this schedule structure before applying.
What You'll Do
• Develop and maintain asset strategies including criticality rankings, maintenance plans, and lifecycle recommendations.
• Conduct failure analysis (RCA/FMEA) on recurring and high-impact equipment failures; translate findings into actionable reliability improvements.
• Optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve asset availability and reduce unplanned downtime.
• Drive parts sourcing strategy; identify critical spares and work with the Maintenance Planner to ensure parts availability without excess inventory.
• Maintain accurate maintenance data and documentation; own the quality of asset records in the CMMS.
• Partner with the Maintenance Planner on job preparation and scheduling to ensure reliability-driven work is properly resourced.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the maintenance program - identify opportunities, propose solutions, and follow through on execution.
• Provide technical analysis and reporting to site and CBRE leadership.
• Support harvest season 24/7 operations as required.
What You'll Need
• 4-5 years of experience in reliability engineering, maintenance engineering, or a closely related technical discipline; manufacturing, industrial, or production environments preferred.
• Working knowledge of reliability methodologies including RCA, FMEA, PM optimization, and criticality analysis.
• Experience with CMMS platforms; ability to build and maintain asset data with a high degree of accuracy.
• Highly organized and methodical; able to build structured programs in an environment that is operationally dynamic.
• Strong problem-solving orientation with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with technicians, planners, and site leadership.
• Winery or food and beverage experience is a plus, not a requirement.
• Comfort with physical requirements including standing, walking, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with data analysis or reporting tools a plus.
• Availability for harvest season schedule requirements (no time off during this period).
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
• CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Reliability Engineer position is $84,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Reliability Engineer position is $120,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
