Full Job Description
In this position you will be recognized as the reliability subject matter expert and be responsible for leading the improvements in maintenance and reliability across a global footprint. This role drives the implementation of best-in-class reliability practices, supports capital projects with RAM analysis, and partners with site teams to develop and execute reliability and maintenance strategies aligned with business objectives. Provides leadership and direction to site teams to drive long term reliability. Utilizes reliability and lean manufacturing tools to continuously drive reliability improvements. A Day in the Life Builds Partnerships/Strategic Leadership • Partners with manufacturing sites to implement key elements of the reliability excellence model. • Act as a liaison with engineers, operations, specialists, and other cross functional teams to implement or develop potential reliability improvements. • Utilize current skills and experience by leading maintenance and reliability assessments to assist with identification of opportunities in equipment reliability, process, and management systems, as well as assist the sites in the development of these improvement programs. Deliver Results • Maintains and analyzes reliability data and drives improvements related to reliability fundamentals such as production critical equipment, equipment maintenance strategies, reliability improvement teams, gap closure assessments/regular audits, spare parts requirements, and reliability metrics. • Utilize the Reliability Health Index to identify and drive improvement at a site or systemic level. • Uses RCM/FMEA/Pareto process principles to establish and optimize proactive maintenance strategies for mechanical equipment. • As a direct member of the Global Reliability Group, ensure required processes, procedures, and standards are followed at the local site level. • Conducts failure analysis and supports root cause investigations as appropriate (i.e., higher level criticality). As well as guiding the site in how to conduct proper RCFAs, with follow up action items and tracking. Grow Capabilities/Cross-Functional Collaboration • Lead programs and training as needed to enhance the reliability culture at the plant sites. • Identify skills and associated training to build organizational capability of the reliability engineer position. Governance & Standards • Drive continuous improvement in the Reliability Excellence model through editing or publishing standards, preferred practices or guidelines. • Serve as the Lead GAIS auditor to support Operational Excellence audits. Drive Innovation/Industry Engagement • Research and recommend innovative tools and techniques to improve business performance. • Represent LyondellBasell in industry organizations (e.g., SMRP, AFPM, IBR) to benchmark practices and stay abreast of emerging technologies. You Bring This Value • BS in Engineering (e.g., chemical, electrical, or mechanical) or other appropriate engineering degree. Work Experience • Minimum of 8 years' experience in refining, petrochemical plant industry, or an industrial plant (e.g., mineral processing), 10+ years preferred. • Ability to work well in a team setting with others to drive change and influence site leadership. • General knowledge of project management, reliability engineering, and root cause analysis. • Must demonstrate a working knowledge of applicable engineering and inspection codes/standards and their application (e.g., API, ASME, ANSI, PIP). • Proficient in applying lean manufacturing tools to optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs. • Experienced in analyzing reliability and maintenance data to uncover systemic opportunities. • Preferred - Strong understanding of statistical analysis, Reliability, Availability & Maintainability (RAM) analysis, and Weibull analysis. • A thorough knowledge of operating processes, equipment, and materials of construction.
