  • Identify and optimize opportunities for cross-selling and upselling within insurance plans.

What You'll Do

We’re looking for a Relationship Manager to join our Business Plan Management team. In this role, you’ll drive business growth, retention, and plan health by serving as a strategic partner to employers, financial professionals, and internal stakeholders.

 

  • Plan Management & Growth, Retention and Opportunity Identification – Manage and oversee employer-sponsored and employer-owned insurance plans, conducting ongoing reviews to optimize plan performance, strengthen retention, identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities, and support territory and regional sales goals.
  • Relationship Management & Communication – Serve as a trusted advisor to plan sponsors, financial professionals, office staff, and internal partners by providing plan design consultation, business planning support, product expertise, training, and best-practice guidance to enhance customer outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Issue Resolution & Complex Problem Solving – Lead the resolution of complex customer, compliance, regulatory, tax, audit, and service-related issues while partnering across teams to ensure accurate, timely, and seamless support for insurance-related processes and plan administration.
  • Training, Leadership, and Internal Partnerships – Contribute to strategic initiatives, presentations, and cross-functional projects while providing training, mentorship, and consultation that strengthens team capabilities, improves business processes, and supports overall business results.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, insurance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in insurance, financial services, or related client facing‑ roles.
  • Strong understanding of individual life and disability insurance and foundational employer sponsored‑/owned plan concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships in a multi‑stakeholder environment.
  • Ability to resolve moderately complex issues with limited supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including comfort with client calls and explaining plan concepts.
  • High attention to detail with strong organization and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret plan information and policy performance.
  • Active Life & Health, FINRA Series 6 & Series 63 licenses.
  • Overnight travel may be required on a limited basis.
Salary Range InformationSalary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. • Wichita, KS: $84,600 – $114,300 / year• Des Moines, IA: $89,300 – $120,650 / year• Charlotte, NC: $94,000 – $127,000 / year• Chicago / Minneapolis: $103,400 – $139,700 / year• Los Angeles / New York City: $112,800 – $152,400 / year

Time Off ProgramFlexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, Charlotte, NC, and Raleigh, NC). You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
