Position Summary

As a Senior Regulatory Engineer, you will lead the identification and interpretation of technical requirements related to INNIO products. You will ensure that all relevant compliance requirements are evaluated, and that a transactional compliance plan is prepared. As part of the product compliance team, you will interface with product development, structural container engineering, customers, and local authorities to enable market access and regulatory compliance. You will work in a multinational and cross-functional organization with a strong learning culture and contribute to the development of sustainable global energy solutions that help reduce the carbon footprint.

Responsibilities and tasks
  • Identify and interpret technical requirements relevant to our products such as installation requirements, building codes, fuel gas codes for the US and Canadian markets, including federal, state/provincial, and local regulations for components and systems.
  • Collaborate with container development teams, customers, and project partners to understand local permitting processes and ensure product compliance aligns with these requirements.
  • Monitor technical regulations and lead technical compliance risk assessments, record requirements in the Requirement Management System, develop mitigation plans and align them with stakeholders.
  • Prepare and maintain the technical file and compliance evidence required to support customer and partner permitting activities. Advise internal teams and customers on permitting-related compliance topics, providing clear guidance and technical positions.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional technical compliance activities, connecting all relevant stakeholders to ensure seamless integration into product development and project execution.
  • Frequent travel (appr. 50% of working time) to visit partners and local customer sites is needed.

Qualifications and skills
  • Senior-level experience in technical compliance, permitting support, or regulatory affairs for engineered products preferably in the energy or industrial sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of US and Canadian permitting processes, technical standards, and regulations.
  • Proven experience interfacing with local authorities, building officials, and customers on compliance and permitting requirements.
  • Strong technical background, with a degree in engineering or science discipline (Bachelor's or higher).
  • Demonstrated project management and leadership skills in cross-functional environments.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and drive results in a dynamic, multinational organization.
