Description

The Surgical Services PreOp Clinic Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) is part of a team responsible for the clinical functioning and support of the pre-operative process through engagement with patients by optimizing the patient's health through pre-assessment activities and liaising with various clinical professionals. The RPN is responsible for preparing the patient's chart with all the required information and teaching the patient (by phone or in-person) to prepare them for their upcoming surgery.

LWDH Surgical Services delivers several specialty surgical programs: Orthopedics (Total knees. Total hips, spine, lower extremity, upper extremity), Cataracts, Pediatric dental, Gynecology, Urology, General surgery/endoscopy.

The RPN will support OR related visiting specialist clinics and assist in minor procedures. In this role, the RPN will accomplish patient care goals by utilizing nursing best practices in a preoperative setting.
