Registered NurseThe Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for the coordination of clinical activities of the Wound Care Center. Activities include, but are not limited to, utilization of skills in organization, planning, implementing, evaluating, and providing care as it relates to the specific needs of the patient.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provides case management to a group of patients providing specific assessments according to protocols and procedures, clinical competence in procedural skills, treatments, and patient/caregiver education related to wound care management, and acts as patient advocate in delivery and coordination of patient care.
- Provides efficient and effective care with the guidance of the provider during the clinic sessions, attends the clinics where scheduled and is dependable. Able to manage multiple patients at the same time with high energy and organization.
- Collaborates with other health care providers, wound care center providers, Program Director, Medical Director, and nurse manager regarding clinic and patient needs.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Must hold active Registered Nurse and State License
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Wound Care Certification desirable, but not required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Prior experience with Microsoft products and EHRs
Physical Requirements:
- Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., use of computer keyboard); may require lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs.), including boxes, equipment, unit-dose cassettes, and IV solutions and stooping and kneeling (e.g., to pick up items from the floor, to remove and replace items on lower shelves, and to file documents in lower file drawers); sitting, walking, or standing for long periods of time (4-8 hours) is often necessary; must be able physically to operate the equipment used for the job.
