Overview

NaphCare is hiring a Registered Nurse Supervisor to join our team of medical professionals in Las Vegas, NV, where we manage all aspects of healthcare for the individuals who are currently incarcerated in the Clark County Detention Center.

 

Pay rates range from $41.00- $42.75 per hour 

 

As a Correctional Registered Nurse Supervisor, you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to the individuals in residence while also overseeing the nursing staff and operations, acting as a supervisor and coordinator. This is a unique position where you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with complex medical needs.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse Supervisor coordinates shift activities and performs a wide range of duties, including assessing patients, administering medications, managing emergencies, and ensuring adherence to established protocols and procedures.  Duties and responsibilities may include and are not limited to:

 

  • Working cohesively with the HSA and DON in the coordination of the healthcare delivery system, as well as other function with the facility
  • Using knowledge and expertise to ensure that nursing processes and systems are followed appropriately according to policies and procedures, company performance and accreditation standards
  • Communicate effectively with clients, peers and employees at all levels with the organization. Maintain clear lines of communication throughout issue-resolution processes
  • Conducting daily clinical rounds, providing direct patient care, triaging, assessing patient needs, developing care plans, and coordinating services
  • Coordinate, structure, implement adn guide the delivery of the nursing service program within the facility, including direct oversight, leadership, management, guidance, support, and evaluation of clinical performance by the LPNs, CNAs/MAs, EMTs and RNs.
  • Assist with orientation and training activities of clinical personnel.  Serve as a professional role model and mentor to motivate, develop, and retain nursing staff
  • Understanding and adhering to correctional facility security protocols, while working closely with correctional officers and other healthcare professionals, to ensure the safety and well-being of patients
  • Work in accordance with the HSA and DON to fulfill the contractual requirements for the delivery of quality healthcare
Qualifications

Experience / Requirements / Qualifications

  • Holds a current, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse within NV
  • Must have a minimum 3-5 years of clinical experience within a healthcare setting, correctional healthcare experience preferred.
  • Must possess an active BLS CPR Certification (American Heart Association required)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Flexible schedule and availability to work overtime when needed
  • Integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
  • Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening

 

Physical Capabilities:

Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
