Maternity Leave Contract (13-month term)
Overview
Our Primary Care team is seeking a Registered Nurse to work in our clinic on a full-time basis for a 13-month term maternity leave contract. This Registered Nurse will act as a member of an inter-professional primary care team, which includes physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, administrative staff, and allied health professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, treatment, and education, under the supervision of a physician or nurse practitioner;
- Perform routine procedures, such as administering medications, immunizations, allergy shots, ear irrigation, dressing changes, and specimen collection;
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans;
- Document patient encounters accurately and promptly in electronic medical records;
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes
- Educate patients and families on health maintenance and disease prevention strategies
Qualifications
- Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario;
- 3-5 years of nursing experience, preferably in a community or primary health care setting;
- Experience using a medical software program, preferably PSS, is an asset;
- Experience working with culturally diverse populations such as newcomers and refugees;
- Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills;
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team;
- Fluency in English and French preferred; other languages are assets;
- Proficiency in the use of computers and electronic medical records;
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Salary: $39.72 - $46.73 per hour (commensurate with experience).
