Ready to take your nursing career to the next level? Quinte Health's Transition Pool offers a unique opportunity to explore diverse clinical areas, build skills, and find where you truly thrive-all while making a difference in patient care.

Start with an 8-week orientation program designed for your success:
First 4 weeks: Medicine/Surgical unit with a consistent mentor to build your foundation.
Next 10 shifts: Rotate through specialized units including Sills 3 (Acute Stroke/Rehab), Sills 4 (Complex Continuing Care), BSTU (Behavioral Support), TCU (Transitional Care Unit), Trenton In-Patient Unit, and Picton In-Patient Unit.

After a few months, once confident and comfortable, you'll complete Emerge orientation-2 weeks in Belleville's Emergency Department and 2 weeks in Trenton's Emergency Department.
This role is ideal for nurses who love variety, thrive in dynamic environments, and want to broaden their horizons.

Required
• Current certificate of registration in good standing, or eligible for registration, from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Current ACLS, or a minimum of CPR or BLS certificate, or proof of enrolment in a recertification course. You will be asked to provide a copy of your valid certificate at the time of hire/transfer.
• Completion of Coronary Care 1 or equivalent (ex. previous Cardio Concepts QHC) or willing to register to an eligible course within 60 days and completion within 6 months of commencement of position (or mutually agreed upon dates).
• Capable of coping with a physically demanding workload. (Physical Demands Analysis available to review).
• Must have a satisfactory Criminal Record / Vulnerable Sector Check.

Duties
• Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, interpersonal and communication skills - to assume in-charge responsibility to function independently.
• Provision of care for patients within an interprofessional environment, including assessment, treatment, teaching and education.
• Performs acts requiring specialized knowledge, skills and judgement necessary for care of acute medical patients.
• Teaching and coaching to patients and families.
• Maintains nursing records in accordance with College of Nurses Standards.
• Practicing in compliance with provincial legislation, hospital policy and procedures, professional regulatory standards and best practices within the nursing profession.
• Maintaining professional competence by completing regular professional development including annul training and education as indicated.
• Participates in unit/dept. and hospital quality improvement initiatives.
• Adheres to a safe and healthy workplace and maintains a safe and healthy work environment through attendance at educational programs, use of established mechanisms for injuries and hazards and adheres to health and safety related policy and procedures.
• Adapts and adheres to the values of Quinte Health while promoting and advocating for an enhanced patient experience.
• Other duties as assigned.
