Job DescriptionInova Alexandria Hospital is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN to join our team.
This position offers a Weekend Differential Premium! Eligible Nurses will qualify for sign-on & relocation bonuses.Position schedule: Fulltime 3/12hr Weekend shifts (7am - 7pm). Schedule will be Saturday, Sunday and Monday or Friday. Training to take place during the weekdays prior to transferring to Weekend shift. Inova Alexandria Hospital is a beautiful 318-bed community hospital located in the city of Alexandria. Our OR is equipped with 11 OR suites and 4 Endoscopy Suites. Comprehensive range of surgical specialties to include, orthopedics-total joints, sports medicine, spine, general ENT, gynecology, urology, plastics, vascular, neurosurgery, robotics, podiatry, and maxillofacial. Full range of Endoscopy services including Heartburn Treatment.

Operating Room Registered Nurse Responsibilities:- Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting, data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships.
- Formulates individualized plans of care based upon assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.
- Supports and empowers patients and families as they progress through the healthcare continuum from health promotion to end of life decisions.
- Advocates for patients' rights from the patient/family perspective and provides counsel and acts as a resource to resolve issues.
- Anticipates ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients/families and assists staff in assessing patients' learning needs.
Operating Room Registered Nurse Requirements:- Experience: Requires a minimum of 1 year of direct Operating Room (OR) experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Education: BSN or ADN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate's Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
- License: Must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
- Certification: Basic Life Support with American Heart Association.
Preferred Experience & Certification: - Strong scrubbing background
- Experienced in Trauma, Neuro, Ortho, Robot & Vascular cases
- Circulating and scrubbing experience
- AORN's Periop 101 curriculum completion and/or CNOR
