Registered Nurse (RN), night shift

Department: Health Center

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Reporting To: Jessica Mays

Compensation: $39.48 - $46.91 / hour

Description

Schedule: Full-time 35 hours per week | Night shift 6pm - 6:15am | Consistent 2-week rotating schedule | Every other Sunday
$2,500 sign-on bonus!

Shift Premiums: Nights (11:00 pm-6:59 am) $2.00, Weekend (Fri 11:00 pm-Sun 10:59 pm) $0.50

Pay Range: $39.48 - $46.91/hr. (this rate is inclusive of the $3.40/hr. Michigan Skilled Nursing Facility Direct Care Worker Pass-Through approved rate; current approval through September 30, 2026)

Join our five-star community as a Registered Nurse (RN), you'll provide direct, hands-on care to residents, including administering medications, performing treatments, and monitoring overall health. You'll lead and collaborate with a supportive care team to ensure each resident receives personalized, high-quality care. Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Direct Nursing Care - Administer medications, perform treatments, monitor vital signs and wound care.
  • Conduct Health Assessments - Evaluate residents and report changes in condition to the clinical team.
  • Monitor and Adjust Care Plans - Observe residents for adverse reactions or side effects and update care plans accordingly.
  • Coordinate Interdisciplinary Care - Work with teams to enhance residents' quality of life.
  • Supervise and Mentor Staff - Oversee nursing assistants and support staff, providing guidance and mentorship.
  • Document Resident Care - Complete daily and monthly records accurately, reflecting care provided and resident responses.
  • Manage Admissions and Discharges - Perform admission and discharge procedures as directed.
  • Maintain Medical Records - Keep accurate, up-to-date records in compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Ensure Safety and Infection Control - Follow all protocols to maintain a safe environment for residents and staff.
  • Prevent Spread of Illness - Adhere to proper infection control procedures at all times.
  • Engage in Ongoing Education - Maintain certifications and stay current with best practices.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred, but we'll consider an Associate degree if paired with relevant experience.
  • Licensure: Must hold a current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Certifications: CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required to ensure participant safety.
  • Experience with Seniors: Prior experience working with elderly individuals or in geriatric care is highly valued.
  • Care Setting Experience: Background in skilled nursing or long-term care environments is preferred.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and move up to 35 pounds independently.
