Qualifications

• BSN degree from an accredited nursing school; ADN holders must complete BSN within 5 years.
• 1+ year clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in acute care.
• BLS certification required upon hiring; additional certifications for specialized units may be needed shortly after hire.
• Active Virginia RN license or multi-state RN license required.
• Labor and Delivery experience preferred, with two years of recent work on an inpatient unit.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care with a focus on patient and family needs.
• Conduct thorough assessments, interpret patient data, and prioritize care accordingly.
• Create and implement tailored care plans aimed at optimal patient outcomes.
• Monitor patient progress, foresee changes, and revise care plans as necessary.
• Coordinate with healthcare teams for care and discharge planning.
• Advocate for patient rights, ensuring their preferences are addressed.
• Document care accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to standards.
