Registered Nurse (RN) Behavioral Health
Job Type: Full Time | 3x12s | Day Shift
Wage scale: $42.09 - $77.43 per hour

The registered nurse (RN) plans, coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served in the Behavioral Health Hospital.

The RN ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with departmental standards of care. The RN demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy and goals of the assigned unit and the organization. They remain flexible to changing systems - are expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practices, and treat staff, physicians, patients and families with consideration and respect.

  • 18 Bed In-Patient Unit
  • 12 Hour Shifts
  • 24/7 Crisis Triage Facility

How you99ll contribute

Provides direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice for behavioral health patients. Collaborates with the interprofessional team to support a safe, therapeutic environment and high-quality outcomes. Reports to the Director or Manager of Department.

Essential Functions

  • Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
  • Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
  • Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs).
  • Assesses learning needs and delivers age-/culture-appropriate patient and family education.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Participates in unit and organizational performance improvement and required continuing education.
  • Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may be assigned on-call.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What we99re looking for
Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a bachelor99s degree or associate degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

  • Active Washington RN license (single-state) or compact required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
  • BLS
  • 1 year of behavioral health RN experience required.
  • Associate99s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor99s Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Critical thinking and decisive judgment skills; able to work with minimal supervision in stressful environments.
  • Ability to quickly learn and navigate multiple clinical software systems.
