Full Job Description
PSV has an exciting employment opportunity for an experienced GI Infusion Registered Nurse to work & support PSV's Gastroenterology Infusion Clinic. This role is working in our Fairfax, VA location. This is a PRN Role, Day Shift as needed, hours range from 8am - 5pm. Job Description • Performs all aspects of patient care in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary infusion room. • Provides comprehensive nursing assessment of patients before, during and after completion of infusions. • Establishes IV access for infusion patients, monitors IV and documents all actions and assessments appropriately in EMR. • Prepares and administers IV therapies per physician orders. • Confirms Prior Authorization approval and procures medications from pharmacy in advance of patient appointments. • Anticipates and proactively plans for educational needs of patients and families. • Excels in organizational skills, adjusts for changes and is able to complete assignments on time. • Delegates appropriately to PSV medical assistants to ensure effective patient monitoring and care. • Role models caring in all encounters with patients and families, as evidenced by feedback from parents and an increase in patient satisfaction scores. • Creates a calming and positive environment to ensure patient is comfortable during treatment. Minimum Qualifications Required • Graduated from an approved school of nursing • Recent experience in a specialty involving infusion therapy, including patient assessment and venous access experience • Excellent interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations for a pediatric population • Strong verbal and written communications skilll • Valid licensure in the state of Virginia as a Registered Nurse • Current AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers certification • All employees must pass an employment TB, drug and physical exam Desired Qualifications • BSN (preferred) Job Type: Full-Time Pay: $39 - $50 per hour Expected Hours: 40 hours
