What You'll Do As an Outpatient Registered Nurse, you will provide comprehensive nursing care while supporting providers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure outstanding patient outcomes.
Schedule - 13-week contract
- Full-time night
- 2 (8) hour shifts, (2) 12-hour shifts
- Includes weekends and holidays as needed
Key Responsibilities include: - Deliver direct nursing care in an outpatient clinical setting.
- Perform patient assessments and accurately document findings in the electronic medical record.
- Assist providers with examinations, treatments, procedures, and patient education.
- Coordinate patient care plans and communicate treatment recommendations.
- Triage patient concerns and determine appropriate follow-up care.
- Monitor patient conditions and promptly report significant changes.
- Support chronic disease management and preventive healthcare initiatives.
- Coordinate referrals, specialty consultations, and follow-up appointments.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in NIH electronic systems.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and quality standards.
- Follow all NIH policies, procedures, and privacy requirements.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN), Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), or Nursing Diploma from an accredited nursing program.
- Successful completion of the NCLEX.
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in any U.S. state, territory, or commonwealth.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience in a Medical-Surgical setting.
- Strong clinical experience in Neurology, including the assessment and management of seizure disorders, is required.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic medical records.
- Ability to successfully complete the AMI credentialing process.
