POSITION SUMMARY:In keeping with the mission statement of the hospital and the patient service unit, the nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care for individual patients/families.
- Effectively uses the nursing process
- Practices according to the standards set by the College of Nurses of Ontario, the Hospital, and the patient service unit
- Provides appropriate learning experiences for the patient and family to promote or maintain wellness, and to achieve an optimal quality of life
- Is accountable for maintaining competence while developing the quality of his/ her professional nursing practice
The Inpatient Surgical Unit part time employees schedule shifts through self scheduling as per seniority.
QUALIFICATION- Current Certification of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (Essential)
- Current CPR Certification (Essential)
- Minimum 1 year pediatric surgery experience (Preferred)
- Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills (Essential)
- Demonstrated culturally sensitive approach to nursing care (Essential)
- Demonstrated strong family centered care skills (Essential)
- Vulnerable Sector Check (Essential)
- Bilingual (English/ French) (Preferred)
