  • Monitor hemodynamics and EKGs, including interpretation.
  • Administer sedation and monitor patient responses.
  • Manage high-risk intravenous therapies and provide emotional support.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Staff Nurse is responsible for planning and providing individual goal directed nursing care that promotes, advocates for, and strives to protect the health, safety and rights of the individual, family and community. The nurse possesses knowledge of the principles of growth and development and the particular skills necessary to provide optimum patient care to the population for which he or she is employed. The Cardiac Cath RN is accountable for their practice and care coordination and with emphasis on the adult patient receiving invasive, diagnostic, and interventional procedures. The RN is expected to practice autonomously utilizing evidence based practices.

What You Will Do In This Role:

  • Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, with emphasis on the adult patient receiving invasive, diagnostic, and interventional procedures
  • Promote and maintain a safe and therapeutic cardiovascular invasive lab environment.
  • Provide high quality care -pre, post, and during procedures
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing process.
  • Hemodynamic and EKG monitoring including interpretation of information obtained
  • Administration of Sedation Analgesia and monitoring patients response
  • Management of high-risk intravenous therapies.
  • Provide emotional support of the patient and significant others to make informed choices regarding health care.
  • Use therapeutic communication in daily practice.
  • Delegate tasks to the appropriate personnel
  • Basic knowledge of purpose CVI supplies while assisting in Inventory control and ordering
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Participate in Cardiovascular Department specific initiatives and process improvement.
  • Promote a supportive environment.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Graduate of an Accredited school of nursing
