Full Job Description
Responsibilities*
  • Scrub and circulate cases for multiple specialties in a fast-paced outpatient setting. Nursing responsibilities are assigned under the clinical supervision of a nursing supervisor
  • Coordinate and provide care for a multi-specialty surgical population, including pediatric and adult populations
  • Perform patient transfers as needed
  • Ability to lift and carry twenty-five (25) pounds
  • Ability to wear lead for surgical procedures
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, twist, and bend for extended periods
  • Ability to reach, push, and pull frequently throughout duration of shift
  • Work collaboratively to prepare rooms between cases
  • Participate in problem solving efforts for the department, on-going QA activities, new employee orientation, and student education
  • Collaborate with BCSC Operating Room and PACU team for patient care

Required Qualifications*
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse to practice in the State of Michigan
  • Two (2) years or more of RN experience
  • Five (5) years or more of recent (within the last two (2) years) Operating Room experience
  • Recent (within the last year) scrubbing and circulating expertise in two (2) or more of the following services, including complex procedures: Plastics (i.e. combo case with immediate reconstruction, abdominoplasty, etc.) Orthopedics (i.e. total joint arthroplasty, arthroscopy, etc.) and Urology (i.e. microvascular procedures, implant procedures, etc.)

Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level E.
