Salary Range: $33.37 - $45.99

Pay rates are determined based on experience and internal equity.

Position Summary:
  • The Registered Dietitian is under the direct supervision of the Acute Registered Dietitian Lead and Senior Director of Operation. Works in conjunction with the Dietary Director of the Convalescent Care Center to meet Skilled Nursing Title 22 Standards.
  • The individual assesses and documents patient nutritional needs, develops and implements nutritional care plans, and counsels patients and families.
  • The patient population serviced by the Registered Dietitian includes adults of all ages.
  • Must work well under stress or tight deadlines.
  • Must work well with supervisors, co-workers, patients/residents, physicians, family members and visitors.
  • Opportunity to support acute care and outpatient dietitian services as well.

Position Duties/Responsibility:
  • Completes a thorough nutrition assessment for all residents upon admission and quarterly
  • Establishes and implements evidence-based nutrition interventions to address PES statements and patient goals
  • Monitors nutrition care plans to ensure individual health goals are achieved, and identifies barriers to meeting goals.
  • Works collaboratively with residents/families, physicians, nurses and ancillary staff to develop appropriate nutrition interventions.
  • Obtains physician approval and support for recommendations.
  • Oversees resident weight monitoring and facilitates the weekly weight meeting
  • Participates in meetings & care plans
  • Maintains knowledge of MDS 3.0 Section K. Submits accurate and timely documentation
  • Develops, updates and implements teaching tools to meet the learning needs of patients, families and staff.
  • Engages in quality improvement audits and checks/surveys and formulates a clear understanding of problems or need to achieve the desired outcome.
  • Identifies with and adheres to the code of ethics for the profession.
  • Demonstrates effective and respectful communication skills
  • Demonstrates sound professional judgment and critical-thinking in practice when faced with opportunities and challenges
  • Maintains communication with Dietary Director and/or Dietary Supervisor for kitchen related needs.
  • Other Duties Assigned by Supervisor

Essential Functions:

Position Qualifications:
  • Education: B.S. R.D.
  • Experience: Prefer minimum of one year experience in acute hospital setting and experience in long term care.
  • Certifications: Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.Skills/Ability:
  • Hospital dietary and cafeteria practices; long term experience preferred.
