As our Regional QMS Manager, Americas, you will maintain the effectiveness of the regional Quality Management System and leading the transition from site-based quality systems to a standardized corporate certification structure. You will ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, OEM Customer-Specific Requirements (CSRs). You will evolve industry standards across the Americas region and applicable business functions through governance, auditor capability, risk-based auditing, organizational learning, and continual improvement. You will report to the Regional Quality Assurance Director.

Main Responsibilities:
1. Regional QMS Governance and Ownership
- Manage regional QMS governance, including designated responsibility for applicable non-productive and remote locations.
- Integrate sites and support functions into our regional and global QMS and ensure certification requirements are met.
- Monitor QMS effectiveness, risks, objectives, corrective actions, and continual improvement through defined governance and performance reviews.
2. Corporate Certification Scheme Transformation
- Lead the transition from site-based certification to an integrated ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 corporate certification scheme, where applicable.
- Define the certification architecture, common processes, governance, roles, interfaces, and documentation needed for multi-site operation.
- Coordinate certification-body activities and integrate new, acquired, remote, or changing sites into the certification scope.
3. IATF 16949 and Automotive Compliance
- Be our regional subject matter leader for IATF 16949 and ensure deployment across sites, remote functions, and corporate processes.
- Govern Automotive Core Tools and applicable process, product, layered audit, change-control, feasibility, and contingency requirements.
- Monitor systemic compliance risks, customer disruptions, special-status conditions, nonconformities, and corrective-action effectiveness.
4. OEM Customer-Specific Requirements Management
- Lead the regional process and controlled framework for identifying, interpreting, deploying, and maintaining applicable OEM Customer-Specific Requirements.
- Integrate CSRs into QMS, launch, supplier, manufacturing, complaint, audit, and competency processes.
- Lead gap assessments and use customer performance data to prioritize actions and verify effectiveness.
5. Internal Audit Program Oversight
- Oversee our regional risk-based internal audit strategy across the certification scope, including system, process, product, layered, remote-function, and corporate-scheme audits.
- Approve audit schedules, assignments, methods, reporting, escalation, and follow-up expectations.
- Analyze systemic findings and ensure root cause, corrective action, closure, and effectiveness verification.
6. Auditor Competency and Training
- Establish and maintain qualification, calibration, requalification, and development requirements for regional auditors.
- Build auditor capability through training, mentoring, observed audits, report reviews, and capacity planning.
- Govern QMS and automotive training and evaluate effectiveness through demonstrated application and performance results.
7. Standards Revision and QMS Framework Modernization
- Monitor and implement new or revised standards, interpretations, customer requirements, and corporate requirements.
- Lead gap assessments, transition plans, training, readiness reviews, implementation, and effectiveness verification.
- Modernize and harmonize QMS tools, procedures, workflows, digital platforms, and governance across sites and functions.
8. Risk, Analytics, Knowledge and Continual Improvement
- Embed risk-based thinking and opportunity management into regional QMS and business processes.
- Use quality, audit, customer, supplier, process, and operational data—including digital analytics—to identify emerging risks and improvement priorities.
- Capture and scale lessons learned, best practices, and corrective actions across the region.
9. Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner across functions to integrate QMS requirements into business processes and escalate material certification or compliance risks.
- Coach site quality leaders and process owners in QMS application, risk management, and continual improvement.
- Represent the region in global QMS, certification, transformation, and automotive compliance forums.
10. Decision Rights and Authority:
- Escalate QMS, certification, and customer-compliance risks and require corrective action for systemic or unacceptable risk.
- Approve regional QMS frameworks, audit requirements, auditor qualification criteria, and CSR governance within delegated authority.
- Recommend certification-scope changes, audit priorities, transitions, and resources based on risk and business need.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Chemistry, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of relevant technical education and progressively responsible quality leadership experience may be considered.
- 5+ years of progressive quality management experience in automotive, chemical, or industrial manufacturing, including multi-site QMS governance and standardization.
- Demonstrated experience implementing, maintaining, and improving ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 Quality Management Systems
- Knowledge of regional QMS governance, multi-site certification architecture, and corporate certification schemes aligned with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.
- Expertise in IATF 16949, OEM Customer-Specific Requirements, Automotive Core Tools, and applicable VDA 6.3, TISAX, and AIAG guidance.
- Capability in risk-based system, process, product, layered, and remote-function audits; auditor qualification and calibration; root cause analysis; corrective action; and effectiveness verification.
- Ability to translate evolving standards and requirements into harmonized QMS processes, digital workflows, analytics, knowledge sharing, and continual improvement.
Preferred Qualifications:
- IATF 16949 Lead Auditor qualification or equivalent recognized automotive QMS auditor credential.
- VDA 6.3 Process Auditor qualification.
- Six Sigma Green Belt minimum; Black Belt
- Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence, or equivalent professional quality certification
