Full Job Description
Daikin Applied is seeking a Regional Project Manager- Data Centers to be based in the Denver area. This newly added position will plan, direct, and coordinate activities of designated data center projects to ensure that goals of each project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters. This role will initially focus on Daikin Applied's substantial growth in Colorado's data center vertical. Location: Ideal candidate will be based in Denver mostly working on new construction Data Center job sites to start. Additional 50-75% travel within the West Region (including CA, CO, ID, NV, WA, WY and the province of British Columbia) as new regional projects develop.

What you will do:

Project Management Leadership:
  • Directs all phases of data center projects, from initial planning through final warranty and maintenance, ensuring seamless coordination between stakeholders and adherence to project timelines and budgets.
  • Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project
  • Establishes fulfillment budget for assigned projects by revising the original estimate based on validated project scope. Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the forecasted cost at completion.
  • Responsible for project cash-flow management: progress billing, collections support and monitoring, and resource management.


Strategic Planning and Coordination:
  • Develops detailed project plans, staffing strategies, and schedules, working closely with National Account Managers and project teams to allocate resources effectively and achieve project goals.
  • Supervises the preparation of plans and specifications for the design/installation of solutions in buildings.
  • Creates and makes revisions to project schedules including: generating tasks, estimates, dependencies; milestones, Project Analysis.
  • Obtains acceptance and timely sign-off of the project by the customer.
  • Responsible for the successful transition of warranty to the service process.


Compliance and Safety Oversight:
  • Ensures projects comply with all regulatory requirements and safety standards, collaborating with governmental agencies and safety managers to maintain a safe working environment throughout project execution.
  • Implements risk analysis and mitigation strategies, reviews project status reports, and adjusts plans as needed to optimize project efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensures compliance with internal contracting processes.
  • Responsible for change order management by recommending solutions, facilitating quotes and closing orders.


Proposed Development and Reporting:
  • Prepares comprehensive proposals detailing project scope, milestones, and billing schedules, and delivers regular progress reports to management and clients to maintain transparency and manage expectations.


Stakeholder Management and Customer Relations:
  • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with customers, contractors, and internal teams, resolving issues promptly to uphold customer satisfaction and ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Responsible for timely completion of assigned projects and customer satisfaction.
  • Communicates with customers and their representatives, including building owners, mechanical contractors, other trades, subcontractors, and field support staff.
  • Meets with contractors and owners to discuss scope of project; budgets; performance; and close-out.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • 4+ years related experience with a combination of Commercial HVAC work and/or Data Centers.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relatable field. Additional work experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • Interest, knowledge and ability to navigate working on a construction site to support the installation, start up and warranty of commercial HVAC systems and services.
  • New construction project management experience related to mechanicals, specifically chiller installation and commissioning.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends, as required.
  • 50% - 75% travel.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience working with Data Center Solutions.
  • Proficient knowledge of HVAC designs, applications, and energy saving solutions.
  • Project Management Certification such as PMP, PMI, Six Sigma.

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $111,000 - $188,000 in Denver + a 15% bonus incentive plan. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
