Full Job Description
About the role

Prime Data Centers is looking for a meticulous, high-energy Regional Procurement Manager to own the end-to-end execution of project-level purchasing. This isn't just a "buying" role; it is a project management powerhouse. You will be responsible for taking a project from its initial budget phase through the RFP process, vendor selection, and the critical "last mile" of delivery, startup, and commissioning.

The ideal candidate lives in the details. You are the bridge between our Global Strategy team and the boots-on-the-ground Construction teams, ensuring that every PO is accurate, every submittal is approved, and every delivery date is tracked to the day.

Location: Chicago, IL | Phoenix, AZ | Denver, CO

Type: Full-Time

Reports to: Director of Procurement

What you'll do

  • Budget Lifecycle Management: Partner with Construction, Accounting and Finance to create and manage project procurement budgets and cashflows. Track actual spend against estimates to ensure zero "surprises" in project CAPEX.
  • RFP Ownership: Lead the Request for Proposal (RFP) process for regional trades and equipment. This includes scoping, vendor invitations, bid leveling, and final recommendation for award.
  • PO Administration: Oversee the issuance of Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure they align with Master Purchase Agreements (MPAs) and project-specific terms.
  • Technical Submittal Management: Act as the "traffic controller" for technical submittals. Coordinate between vendors and Engineering to ensure specs are reviewed, corrected, and approved without delaying production slots.
  • Supply Chain Risk Reporting: Maintain real-time dashboards on vendor performance and lead-time volatility. Proactively flag risks to the construction schedule before they become critical path issues.
  • Logistics & Delivery Tracking: Own the "cradle-to-grave" tracking of all OFCI equipment. You will know exactly where a transformer or chiller is from the factory floor to the job site gate.
  • Startup & Commissioning (Cx) Coordination: Work closely with the CX teams to schedule vendor technicians for equipment startup. Ensure all close-out documentation and O&M manuals are collected and filed.

The Ideal Profile

  • The "Follow-Up" Expert: You have an innate ability to chase down information. If a vendor is silent or a submittal is stuck in review, you are on the phone making sure it moves.
  • Hyper-Organized: You likely have a color-coded system for everything. Managing 50+ line items across multiple job sites simultaneously is where you thrive.
  • Technical Translator: You can read a spec sheet and understand the importance of a "long-lead" item versus a commodity.
  • Communication Specialist: You can provide a high-level executive summary for a VP in the morning and dive into the "weeds" with a site superintendent in the afternoon.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 5-8 years in Procurement, Project Management, or Supply Chain within the Data Center, Industrial Construction, or Oil & Gas industries.
  • Process Knowledge: Strong understanding of requisiton process and GL coding, AIA documentation, and the mechanical/electrical components inherent to data centers.
  • Software Proficiency: Expert-level skills in Procore, Netsuite, or similar project management/ERP software.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication. You must be comfortable "managing up" and holding vendors accountable to strict deadlines.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, or a related field.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range ($100K-$130K) and performance bonus program
  • 401k fully vested upon enrollment, up to a 4% employer match
  • 100% employee premiums paid by employer for medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability
  • Paid Time Off + Sick time

Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.
